Terms and Conditions
By accepting a position at Camp Eden Woods, you agree to the following terms and conditions as outlined below. These terms are designed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for both you and the campers, and to make sure expectations are clear from the outset.
1. Staff Compensation and Pay Chart
Camp Eden Woods compensates staff according to a clearly defined pay structure. The pay rates for general staff roles can be found on the Counselor Application Page. Your exact salary per week will be outlined in your contract prior to employment.
Please note that compensation for certain specialty positions may vary. These rates will be confirmed with you at the time of hiring, based on the specific role and expertise required.
Photographers and videographers will follow the same pay chart as outlined for Counselors and Activity Specialists.
Pay will be distributed according to the schedule set by Camp Eden Woods, and taxes will be deducted as required by law.
2. Role Expectations
As an overnight summer camp, the nature of the work at Camp Eden Woods is immersive and requires a commitment to the safety, enjoyment, and well-being of all campers. Staff are expected to be actively engaged and present throughout the day as needed, with the exception of designated time off. While the camp provides designated breaks and time off, working at an overnight summer camp can involve unexpected situations or needs, and staff are expected to be flexible and responsive. We strive to build a helpful and supportive community where everyone plays an active role in ensuring the camp runs smoothly and that our campers have the best experience possible.

We encourage all staff to engage fully in the camp experience, and we strive to make your time at camp as enjoyable as possible. You are not just a caretaker of the campers; you are a key part of the camp community. We hope you will embrace the fun, creativity, and camaraderie that make Camp Eden Woods special.
3. Time Off
Each staff member will receive one day off and one night off per session. During these designated off times, you are welcome to stay on camp grounds or leave the premises, based on your personal preferences and availability of transport.

Staff must remain on-site during the camp sessions unless otherwise arranged with management. During your time off, you are free to enjoy camp's facilities, socialize with fellow staff, or leave camp to explore the local area.
4. Travel and Transportation
All staff are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from Camp Eden Woods. However, we will assist with coordinating pickups and transport options when and where possible, based on staff availability, flight schedules, and the start date of the camp season.

Transportation Coordination: We will aim to coordinate with other staff members who have similar flight and arrival dates to streamline travel arrangements. This coordination will begin approximately one month before pre-camp training.
5. Pre-Camp Training
All staff must be available for mandatory pre-camp training one week before the start of the first session. This training is crucial for ensuring that all staff members are familiar with camp procedures, safety protocols, and camper care expectations.

6. Required Documentation and Certifications
As part of the hiring process, all staff members must:

Provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check, which is required for working with minors.

Obtain CPR certification relevant to the age group you will be working with before the start of the camp season. You may be required to submit proof of certification before arriving at camp

Provide references and/or reference letter's or letters of recommendation.

7. Meals, Accommodation, and Laundry
Camp Eden Woods provides accommodation, meals, and laundry services for all staff throughout the duration of your employment.​

8. General Responsibilities
In addition to your role as a camp counselor, specialist, or other position, all staff members are expected to:

Uphold a professional, safe, and positive environment for campers and staff.

Follow all camp policies and safety procedures, including health protocols.

Serve as role models for campers at all times, modeling good behavior, teamwork, and responsibility.

Maintain an enthusiastic and positive attitude during activities and events.
